The Name Game

There is a lot of believers who are confused over the name of our Savior. The KJV Holy Bible clearly states it was written in 3 languages at the cross.

If everyone knew Him only as Yeshua, there would have been no need to write His Name in its other transliterated forms of Greek and Latin on the sign above Him.

John 19:
19 And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.

Hebrew: Yeshua haNotzri Melech haYehudim
Greek: Iesous ho Nazoraios ho Basileus ton Ioudaion
Latin: Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum

Iesous in Greek is translated to Jesus in the KJV Holy Bible. If you speak English, Jesus is right!

The Gospel of Saint Luke

We started the study of Luke this month. Please post comments or questions about this good news!

The first chapter shows Luke is telling his story because as a servant he doesn't hide his faith. Remember the parable about the servant hiding his money in the ground? Luke didn't want to do that.

The second chapter lets us know Joseph was from Bethlehem and was going there to be taxed. There was time to prepare for the birth of Jesus. Think about it. If you were traveling with a pregnant wife to the place of your orgin, wouldn't there be a family member or relative to stay with? No stable is mention.

Great book with lots of teaching about God and his salvation for believers.

last week we started a new book of the Holy Bible - Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament. it will be interesting to see and learn from the man who prayed to God for wisdom.

one thing at stood out is that even with all the riches one's heart could desire, he was not satisfied and hated life.

Hebrews 9-10

When looking at these chapters we see inside the veil and understand the role of the high priest and ourselves as servants. Our carnal rituals weren't enough to purge our conscience from dead works. We needed a savior.

The law gives us hope of things to come, and it is important not to "forsake the asembling of ourselves together".

we hear the discussion of the choice and duties of the high priest. Jesus Christ is our High Priest that brought us a better testament. to teach us not carnal rituals, but spiritual ones. to obey ways of truth, which they weren't doing we he came.

today we talked about "being made perfect through sufferings". our lives are good, but we suffer knowing others are not pleasing God, and not having a good life because of their sin. we discussed Jesus winning the reigns of death, and reviewed the fact that all created beings (angels and humans) are learning about God's majesty.
